Mark Henry has heaped praise on former WWE colleague and current TNA Wrestling participant, saying his comedic talents rival those of a top-tier Hollywood actor. Henry shared his views during a recent episode of the “No-Contest Wrestling” podcast, where the topic of humor in the wrestling world was the central discussion point.
Henry gave high praise to Santino Marella, enthusiastically proclaiming, “Santino Marella. [When] he’s not even trying to be funny, he’s funny. I don’t know how he’s not in Hollywood being Jim Carrey, because he does characters like that, and he tells the most ‘off’ jokes. It’s like he’s trying to get canceled, you know?”
In addition to Marella, he also shouted out Ron Simmons and John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield. The duo entertained audiences during the Attitude Era as members of APA. Henry explained their comic appeal as follows, “They complement each other perfectly and it’s hilarious. Ron, with the ‘Damn,’ that’s just one thing. There’s about 50 of them. Ron has a certain look that he makes, you know? Bro, he’s the best.”
Presently, Marella is putting his sense of humor to good use in TNA Wrestling, where the previous Intercontinental Champion now has an authoritative role.
Santino Marella’s daughter Arianna Grace is following in her father’s footsteps, using her comedic potential in NXT and acting as the liaison between NXT and TNA.
