On a recent episode of the renowned “Busted Open Radio” podcast, wrestling veteran Matt Hardy shed light on the process of conceptualising his “Broken” persona and the mindset that went into shaping the character’s unique traits.
Hardy shared, “The guys are so athletic and so talented now and they’re smaller, and I can’t wrestle like I did 20 years ago, 25 years ago. So I said, ‘What if I try to be more theatrical and more performative?’ I did think of, like, a throwback to the Papa Shango, Undertaker stuff when he first started. I said, ‘Either people will buy in that I am this supernatural character because something has happened, my brain has opened up,’ or they’ll think I’m crazy. Either way, I’ll make it work.”
In the same podcast, WWE Hall of Fame inductee Mark Henry voiced his approval for Rhea Ripley’s victory over Liv Morgan at WWE Bad Blood 2024.
In Henry’s words, “If she wins, I’m gonna be happy because that means that the story is not over and Dom and Liv are going to keep on trying to do her dirty and we get more of that saga. So, yeah, I’m actually praying that Rhea wins.”
Ripley is all set to take on Morgan for the coveted Women’s World Title at WWE Bad Blood 2024, which will take place on Saturday, October 5, at the renowned State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
