Mark Briscoe may be in a different promotion to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, but the former ROH World Tag Champion hasn’t forgotten about their feuds.
Briscoe, alongside his brother Jay, faced Owens and Zayn several times in Ring of Honor prior to the two Canadians signing with WWE.
During an episode of “Talk is Jericho,” Briscoe reflected on facing the two WWE Superstars, and why he believes they had so many matches together. He said,
“I mean, Kevin Steen [Owens] and El Generico [Zayn], we wrestled them for the better part of 2007.
“We’re all full of piss and vinegar … we would go out there and beat the absolute crap out of each other, and just have a blast doing it.
“The first time that we wrestled was in Philly, and it was just kind of a … no build to the match,” Briscoe continued. “I think that match went so good and the chemistry was so right there, he [Gabe Sapolsky] said, ‘We can run this match all year long.’ And so, that’s what we did.”
Briscoe has been following the careers of Zayn and Owens and reacted to the pair winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39 earlier this year.
