The Women’s Owen Hart Cup is heating up. The semifinal lineup is now complete after Mariah May scored a victory against Saraya in the climactic Zero Hour of AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door III.

In the preceding matches, Willow Nightingale got the better of Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander triumphed over Nyla Rose, and Hikaru Shida held sway over Deonna Purrazzo in the Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision events over the past several days.

As part of tonight’s colossal pay-per-view event, Mariah May secured a win over Saraya, consequently setting herself up as the next contender to face Shida. This face-off is scheduled at the upcoming Dynamite: Beach Break special, along with the match between Nightingale and Statlander. The Owen Hart Cup championship will take place on the 10th of July, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Mariah May’s success was lauded by “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, both of whom demonstrated their support for May post-match. This added a touch of unease, as the two are to compete against each other later tonight for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Who will emerge as the victors of these nail-biting semifinals? Does Mariah May have what it takes to snatch the whole tournament? We invite you to share your thoughts and predictions in the comments section below!
