AEW wrestler Mariah May has expressed her dedication to the wrestling promotion but admits she would consider opportunities in acting or modelling if they become available.
In a recent “Niko Exxtra” podcast episode, the topic of May’s potential interest in acting or modelling was brought up.
Below are some memorable moments from the podcast:
Discussing potential future projects outside AEW: “At present, my entire focus is on AEW. This is the place that helped me make my dreams come true in America. Ever since I was a child, I aspired to be an entertainer, specifically a wrestler. Even when it seemed farfetched, AEW gave me the platform and opportunities in my rookie year. On top of all this, AEW is still very new and growing, which means I have the opportunity to be part of creating history. I’m looking forward to spending the next few years doing just that.”
“AEW is very flexible about its wrestlers participating in different ventures. Although we have a strong division, and my absence would be felt, it would also pave the way for new talent. I believe AEW truly wants the best for us.”
In another interview on “The Zaslow Show,” Mariah May, the AEW Women’s World Champion, reflected on her rivalry with fellow wrestler, Toni Storm.
May won the AEW Women’s World Title against Storm at AEW All In London 2024.
May stated, “Contrary to some ideas, I was not told in advance about all of this, about being in Japan, about Wembley or the Owen. It was a very exciting time for me. I actually moved to Japan to improve my wrestling skills with STARDOM when I got the call from Tony Khan saying AEW was interested. The idea of following in Toni’s footsteps was interesting because my career, in some ways, echoes hers. We’re both from the UK, and both spent time at STARDOM. So when this opportunity arose, it felt right. I truly believe that given a chance, I will seize it, and I did precisely that.”
She added, “The most encouraging part of this experience was that AEW saw potential in me and had a clear plan. It led me to becoming a world champion at Wembley Stadium.”
