During a latest appearance on the Instinct Culture podcast, AEW wrestler and winner of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, Mariah May, shared insights about her tenure with and impact of being part of AEW, among other topics.

Below are a few standout moments from the podcast:

Regarding the influence of being part of AEW has had on Mariah, she explained; “Rather than saying it has changed me, it just feels as if my life is whole now. I have a sense of calm as an individual, own an apartment, and am shaping my own life. It is challenging obviously, I adore my family and miss them immensely. I always felt slightly misplaced living in the UK and often pretty isolated given I had this extraordinary dream. Even in Japan, a country I love and would like to return to, it never felt entirely as if I belonged, I felt quite alone there.”

When asked about how AEW has become a homely feeling for her, she noted: “AEW simply feels like my home, it is exactly where I should be. The opportunities it has offered me and the involvement in this creative storyline have been fulfilling, something I have been craving for because of my acting background. I absolutely enjoy that part of the wrestling world. The passionate physicality in the ring, the fascinating family I have at AEW comprised of other wrestlers, everyone backstage, and all those who genuinely care and want to succeed together on multiple projects. It’s a delight to be around creative and like-minded individuals, and to live in America, as that was always my dream, I’m living the American dream,” she laughed.
