In a recent appearance on the “Instinct Culture” podcast, Mariah May, a wrestler with AEW (All Elite Wrestling) and victor of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, shed light on her experiences in AEW, the effects her journey in AEW has had on her and more.
Below are some notable excerpts from the podcast:
When asked about the impact her association with AEW has had on her, she replied, “It’s not just about change, I feel it has made my life complete. I am finding myself more settled in life now – I have my own place and am creating a life for myself. Yes, missing my family is tough. While I felt alienated living [in the UK] and even in Japan – despite my love for it, I felt a touch of loneliness. These were places where I had big dreams, but something felt amiss.”
She also shares her sense of belonging at AEW: “AEW seems like my second home, it feels right! It has provided me with incredible opportunities, and I am a part of a creative storyline, which I’ve always yearned for as an actor. While I enjoy being active in the ring, I also adore the artistic aspect of wrestling. I am grateful for the supportive family I have at AEW – full of wrestlers, backstage crew, and people who genuinely wish to see me rise and collaborate with me on different things. It’s refreshing to be around creative individuals with similar interests, and my dream to live in America has become a reality”.
