In a recent “Adult Conversations” podcast episode, former WWE standout, Maria Kanellis shared her thoughts about Michelle McCool’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Here are some salient points from the podcast:
Reflecting on Michelle McCool: “I frequently reminisce about a crucial match I had with Michelle McCool. It held significance for me as I wasn’t often given the opportunity to compete in title matches, and someone once told me it was their most cherished match that I was part of. Indeed, it was an exhilarating experience. McCool unquestionably earned her laurels for all her grit. She put immense efforts, arguably more than anyone else, to hone her wrestling skills.”
About McCool’s deserving achievements: “I used to arrive early with her before the house shows to perfect our moves. Now, Michelle McCool is ascending into the Hall of Fame. She lobbied for increased time for women’s matches, for executing bigger moves, for enhanced exposure, she fought. My journey was enriched by the privilege of working with such phenomenal people.”
In an ensuing interview with “The Takedown” on SI.com, Ethan Page, a Superstar from WWE NXT, reiterated his aspiration to compete against John Cena during Cena’s farewell tour.
Let’s highlight some key points from the podcast:
Maintains his inclination for a match with John Cena: “Plain and simple, I still crave that match. Nothing has changed. Neither Rock nor Cena would take umbrage at my ambition. Essentially, this is a wrestler’s desire to create a name in a grand event. Both of these guys have dealt with that. My reaction to the prospect? It could be best described as pure jubilation, maybe even a bit of defiantly ignoring the kids.”
His faith in Cena’s integrity: “Despite what unfolds in Toronto, and how it shapes your image of John Cena, it doesn’t bother me. Regardless of people’s opinions, I really trust that he’s a man of his word. If he has mentioned specific dates he would be available to WWE, and hinted at an end, I believe him when he suggests that his career has an expiry date.”
His urge for the match: “If I can’t squeeze into this tight frame to face John Cena, I’d regret missing out on a match with the ultimate WWE star. Therefore, I am extremely eager to experience this before John returns to the dressing room for good. The match needs to happen, irrespective of potential confrontations. The opportunity to witness greatness in action is too tempting to let slip away.”
