Wrestling manager and performer, Maria Kanellis-Bennett, has recently made announcements regarding both her health and professional career. Expected to undergo adrenal gland surgery for removing a newly discovered mass, she updated her followers and fans via social platforms not long ago. Besides this, Kanellis-Bennett also made declarative news that her incumbent contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is scheduled to conclude at the conclusion of October.
In a message published on social media, she wrote, “Update!! Don’t know if it’s cancer. Dont know if it’s genetic. Don’t know if I will be working for AEW. I have zero answers but I have this stick and it will make my kids happy… @myrestlinghome #thyroid #adrenalglands #adrenalsupport #adrenalmass #endocrine”. She leverages the unpredictability of her current circumstances to focus on what she can indeed control, that is, creating joyful memories for her children whilst dealing with the complexities of her health and prospective job situation.
In a video posted, Maria expressed, “My contract with AEW is coming up October 31. I’ve reached out to them to find out whether or not they are going to be signing me, but I haven’t really heard anything yet — so of course that is weighing on me as well.” She also shared her plan of venturing in Halloween decorations, depicting her intention to engage in positivity amidst chaos.
Further, Kanellis-Bennett took to Twitter stating, “For those asking I will be accepting interviews about my time and treatment in @aew after October 31st. I will be able to start taking bookings 6 weeks after my surgery so starting the second week in December. [email protected]”.
Our readers would recollect Kanellis-Bennett primarily through her impactful stint in AEW as a manager. She has fruitfully managed superstars such as Griff Garrison and Cole Carter in Ring of Honor (ROH). Maria, along with her spouse, Mike Bennett, made a debuting appearance in AEW back in October 2022.
