Wrestler Mandy Rose recently disputed WWE’s claim that Stephanie Vaquer is NXT’s first female double champion. She counter-argued that she broke this record in 2022.
Many wrestling fans challenged her claim, pointing out that Rose isn’t actually a double champion since she only held the NXT and NXT UK Women’s Titles in a unification match.
In response to the criticism on Twitter, Rose emphasized that it was a matter of semantics and her critics likely never held a championship belt themselves. She stated:
“It’s so funny to me that the people that never held a championship before are the first to sit there and argue about what counts as a double champion. Listen, y’all can argue semantics all that you want, but I still held two titles at the same time. Yes, unified them, thank you. And, call it what you want; who cares? Double Champion, Mandy Two Belts, Undisputed Bada**, whatever. It still doesn’t take away the fact that I did it. So you know, y’all can keep fact-checking over there, and I’ll just keep winning. Have a great day.”
Despite her winning the title unification match for the NXT and NXT UK Women’s Titles, Rose didn’t defend the latter title, which was immediately retired.
Vaquer, on the other hand, separately grabbed the NXT Women’s and Women’s North American titles and even passionately defended both titles in the recent episode.
