Wrestling superstar, Mandy Rose has expressed feelings of being somewhat “forgotten” by WWE, leaving her perplexed about the organisation’s perception of her role.
In a recent engagement with the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, the topic of WWE’s depiction of Stephanie Vaquer as the inaugural double-weight champion among women in NXT was touched upon. Rose highlighted that she has held both the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT UK Women’s Championship titles, albeit in a unifying capacity and not formally acknowledged as holding two individual titles simultaneously. She, among other fans, voiced disagreement with the WWE’s representation of the matter.
Briefly, here are some excerpts from the podcast:
When asked if she’s astonished that she’s rarely mentioned on WWE programming, she said: “Yes, it is surprising. I’m clueless as to the reason. It might be circumstantial, or maybe it’s something else entirely. There have been numerous cases within the organisation when things go wrong, time passes and then there’s a resurgence. But it’s a business at the end of the day and that’s how it’s viewed. I’ve often wondered if I would make a comeback in the wrestling world. Considering the state of my career at the moment, which is going pretty well, does it make sense for me to return to the ring? I’m not quite sure myself. I never officially retired, so I’m definitely receptive to the idea, if it were to make sense.”
Regarding a potential appearance at the Royal Rumble, she stated: “I’m not sure if they’ll welcome me back. I have no idea how they perceive the situation. We haven’t spoken about it. Could they have been upset about the situation? I don’t know. Maybe they’d prefer to distance themselves from me, as I sometimes feel a bit overlooked. NXT did allude to me in a recent promotion package discussing women’s evolution in wrestling, which was uplifting. It did give me a faint ray of hope and some acknowledgement. Even so, I sometimes feel like I’m being slowly faded out from their roster of celebrated athletes. I could be mistaken.”
