The conclusion of WCW (World Championship Wrestling) has been the talk of the town recently, thanks to the VICE docuseries, Who Killed WCW?. This has been brought into perspective during a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, during which WWE Hall of Famer, Madusa, shed light on why this remains in the public curiosity years after, the roots of discord in the company at its fall, and more.
Here are some noteworthy parts of the discussion from the podcast.
When questioned on why this topic continues to hold relevance, Madusa responded, “Even after so many years, it influenced numerous lives. Trauma has a way of lingering, and each person deals with it differently. There was immense trauma as it influenced the livelihoods of many people.”
Talking about the problems festering in the company when it was on the brink of collapse, she explains, “To many observers, the company was managed capriciously. Speaking candidly, it was unjust on so many levels to a lot of people in terms of work ethic. It was unethical, unlawful, and simply incorrect.”
You can watch Madusa divulge her thoughts on what led to the conspicuous demise of WCW on Busted Open, in the following video:
