In an interview on the “That’s Wrestling!” podcast, former WWE Superstar Low Ki revealed that he had once proposed a wrestling plot involving a Mask vs. Mask match with Rey Mysterio, a concept that ultimately was pitched to CM Punk in WWE.

Low Ki disclosed his original storyline idea, which was meant to extend from Survivor Series all the way to WrestleMania. Reinforcing this was the fact that Mysterio had given his approval and a meeting was arranged to deliberate on this concept.

Low Ki shared, “I would end up getting Rey Mysterio fired, and end up becoming a bad Rey Mysterio clone. And then it would’ve led to Rey Mysterio versus Rey Mysterio, mask versus mask, because I can match him in almost everything he does physically. And what did they do? They took that idea and they gave it to CM Punk which had him putting on a mask.”

In other news, Nic Nemeth, during a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, expressed his admiration for Renee Paquette, lauding her as AEW’s unsung hero.

Nemeth extolled Paquette for her significant contributions to AEW. Here are a few highlights from the conversation:

On Paquette’s role in AEW: “Seriously, that is an unsung hero, MVP of AEW because she’s in five, six, seven backstages every night. Every single step of the way, Renee reacts to it appropriately or embraces whatever the mood is, and even last night [on ‘Dynamite’] just in between a very serious promo, she was just throwing the mic and moving it back and forth, knowing the stage direction of what this group was going to do. I said, ‘Dammit, she’s so good at her job.’”

On the connection Paquette builds with fans: “She’s taking our place of being backstage and I think she does such a great job. Being good at this is great. She has annoyingly been really good at this for 15 years.”
