MLW is happy with the live attendance figures for the recent shows at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City and the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, reports Pwinsider.
Both events saw an increase in attendance figures compared to the previous shows.
Additionally, MLW added several rows of seats the nights prior to the shows in anticipation of strong walk-up crowds. Owing to the overall success of both shows, MLW plans on returning to both markets later this July.
The War Chamber match that took place in New York City was produced by Rickey Shane Page. Court Bauer and Jared St. Laurent produced the Battle Riot V match. Page, Delirious, and Lince Dorado served as producers in Philadelphia. Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Anoa’i worked as producers in New York City.
Talent at the MLW events didn’t hear anything about the status of MLW on REELZ or the company’s ongoing lawsuit with WWE. MLW appreciated the efforts of Taya Valkyrie, who finished up with the promotion this past weekend.
Billie Starkz was banged up due to the recent AEW TV taping. Starkz worked the night before Battle Riot V and also showed up to work on Saturday. The dedication of Starkz and B3cca impressed MLW officials.
Additionally, it is believed backstage that Richard Holliday could be returning soon following the successful completion of his cancer treatment.
Former AAA and IWC promoter Ron Skoler was reportedly backstage at MLW War Chamber in New York City. Skoler received an invitation from MLW CEO Court Bauer, so that he and Gary Juster, who is currently working for MLW, could reunite.
Skoler and Juster helped put together the AAA ‘When Worlds Collide’ pay-per-view event in November 1994. This is the first time the duo met each other since the event.
