In spite of all the uncertainty surrounding wrestling right now, WrestleMania 37 was still being advertised as intended for next year in SoFi Stadium in California. Now, more uncertainty looms over next year’s event.

According to the LA Times, an internal Los Angeles Fire Department email sees Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti suggesting that large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events could be put off for at least a year.

“Large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events may not be approved in the city for at least 1 year,” said Garcetti according to the email. It was also noted in the email that Garcetti would like to start reopening the economy, starting with “essential businesses and small businesses … phased in over a period of time (6-10 months).”

While the status of next year’s WrestleMania remains unclear, today is certainly a dark day for WWE as multiple wrestlers have been released including Rusev, Lio Rush, EC3, Zack Ryder, and more.
