WWE’s Chief Creative Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and firm president, Nick Khan, initiated a productive visit to London on July 25. The focus of their meeting with London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, was the potential for bringing WrestleMania to the city.
In the aftermath of the meeting, both Sadiq Khan and WWE superstar John Cena shared their optimistic outlook on the possible event via social media. The Mayor of London described the meeting as fruitful and affirmed that they would maintain open lines of conversation to transform the city’s ambition into reality.
As stated by Mayor Khan on Twitter, “I am thrilled to have convened a meeting with Paul “@TripleH” Levesque and @WWE President Nick Khan, discussing turning London into WrestleMania’s premier international location. It was a constructive session. We’ll keep the negotiations going about how we can bring our ambition to fruition.”
Pro-wrestler John Cena expressed his support for this historic move. His Tweet read, “WWE has always been upheld by the City of London and the UK throughout all its trials. I believe it’s more apt to say that London has proven its worth – it has earned the opportunity to host WrestleMania. Although I won’t be competing at the event, I will make it a point to be there cheering as a fan.”
