Logan Paul, the WWE Superstar and co-founder of the PRIME energy drink brand, finds himself embroiled in another legal dispute. This time, the claim for .7 million in damages comes from a supplier, Refresco.
Refresco, a global soft-drinks manufacturer, filed a lawsuit alleging PRIME violated a contractual agreement made in 2023. Reportedly, the agreement demanded PRIME order a minimum of 18.5 million cases of the energy drink annually for a duration of three years. This stipulation equated to a total of 55.5 million cases, as mentioned in the legal proceedings.
The conflict arose when PRIME allegedly failed to fulfill the prescribed order volume in the initial year of the agreement. In anticipation of the large orders, Refresco purportedly established a special production line exclusively for PRIME, which incurred significant expenditure.
The litigation documents express that the contract structured was predicated on high anticipations of demand for PRIME energy drink. However, disappointing sales figures well below the predictions by the year 2024 have spelled trouble for the brand.
According to the lawsuit, the underwhelming performance of PRIME is attributed to the shifting seasonal trends and the dwindling social media buzz around the beverage, despite ongoing promo at WWE events.
Further, PRIME finds itself amidst another legal wrangle with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. They contend that PRIME is misleadingly insinuating that they are endorsed by Team USA.
Moreover, Logan Paul has gravitated controversy following unsubstantiated allegations against Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. His subsequent response labeled as “oopsies”, was widely perceived as a inadequate apology.
