Logan Paul has made it clear that he has no desire for fan approval in the near future.
Paul embarked on a successful career in professional wrestling after joining WWE in June 2022.
In November 2023, at the Crown Jewel event, Paul secured the WWE United States Championship from Rey Mysterio, only to lose it later to LA Knight at SummerSlam 2024.
During a recent episode of his “Impaulsive” podcast, Paul was quizzed on his antagonistic WWE persona. The wrestling newcomer asserted his preference to keep playing the ‘heel’ role in the times to come.
In his words, “Best thing ever. Initially, it disturbed me. I can recall Bruce Prichard—a legendary WWE executive, who’s familiar face in every WWE documentary, always has an opinion on something.
“I remember my entering a show in Cleveland, my walk out was met with jeers. I confronted Bruce about it backstage, who was in tears. I was irate at the crowd’s reaction, wondering ‘Do they realize that if I chose to, I could step down from that ring, pull any one of them out and have them beaten to a pulp? It doesn’t matter who they are, their age, gender, or physical ability.’ I was extremely upset. Getting booed in my own hometown deeply upset me.”
Paul stated that Bruce Prichard’s subsequent remark about Cleveland made him view such reactions from wrestling fans in a whole new light.
He added, “Afterwards, he made a snide remark about Cleveland that got my goat. It was like a punch in the gut. It made me seriously question my place. But then, something shifted. I realized the power that comes from the ability to control a crowd, to skillfully manipulate their emotions. Though, it’s a two-way street. At times, the tables are turned—they play with my psyche, their jeers overwhelming enough to make delivering my speeches difficult. But then there are instances when I mock one of their favourite Superstars or the city, resulting in utter satisfaction. In all honesty, I cannot envision myself playing the ‘babyface’ anytime soon. I love the space I am in right now. It’s exhilarating.”
