Logan Paul Responds to Fan Backlash Regarding WWE-PRIME Deal with Defiant Statement

Last week on SmackDown, Logan Paul announced that PRIME was the first-ever center ring sponsor in WWE history, and the sponsorship will commence at WrestleMania 40.

On a recent edition of his “Impaulsive” podcast, Paul addressed the backlash to the sponsorship. He said,

“Getting that center ring spot is interesting. It’s more positive reviews, but I think the die hard wrestling fans are really upset. It’s never been done, and Vince [Vince McMahon] was always really protective of the mat and not putting any brands on it, but in this new era, which it is, no matter how you cut it. TKO is a publicly traded company, they have to meet a bottom line. That spot was going to be sold. We saw an opportunity, and potentially an opportunity to make people hate me even more, because I am a heel, that’s kind of the angle I took. F**k y’all, I’m going to stamp everything about this with me so you’re reminded of just what my aim is; to takeover. If we don’t have this spot forever, who knows, it’ll be somebody else. I promise, if you’re a die-hard WWE fan, you’ll forget about it. It’ll start to be standard practice and I don’t think it’ll be as distracting as y’all think.”

He continued, “It’s gonna be a big WrestleMania. There’s not much [else] to say. I am very excited to be a part of the WWE at this time where they’re making moves like they did with PRIME in the middle of the ring. They’re bringing back some of the biggest superstars they’ve ever had. I’m kind of finding my voice as a wrestler. I think my ultimate goal would be to turn people who maybe didn’t care about it into casual fans.”

During the conversation, KSI also shared his experiences in WWE.

KSI was driven through a table at WrestleMania 39 and took an RKO from Randy Orton on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

You can check out some additional highlights from the podcast below:

On taking the RKO: “Honestly, one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. He f**ked me up. He grabbed my head and slammed me into his bicep. My nose is smushed, my lip got cut up. The inside of my lip is destroyed from my teeth slamming into his bicep. I was like, ‘f**k.’ It hurts. It f**king hurts.”

On whether he could wrestle full-time: “I like to see myself as the Shane McMahon of WWE. I don’t mind getting a Stone Cold Stunner. I just want one suplex.”

Logan Paul, the controversial YouTube star and professional boxer, recently made headlines in the world of professional wrestling. Last week on SmackDown, Paul announced that PRIME, a sports nutrition company, would be the first-ever center ring sponsor in WWE history. This sponsorship is set to commence at WrestleMania 40, one of the biggest events in the wrestling calendar.

The announcement of PRIME as a center ring sponsor received mixed reactions from fans and wrestling enthusiasts. On his “Impaulsive” podcast, Paul addressed the backlash and acknowledged that while there were positive reviews, die-hard wrestling fans were upset. He recognized that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had always been protective of the mat and had not allowed any brands on it. However, Paul emphasized that in this new era, with WWE being a publicly traded company, meeting a bottom line was necessary. The center ring spot was going to be sold, and PRIME saw an opportunity to take it. Paul also mentioned that he embraced the role of a heel (villain) and aimed to make people hate him even more through this sponsorship.

Despite the criticism, Paul expressed his excitement to be a part of WWE during this time of significant moves and developments. He mentioned that WrestleMania 40 would be a big event and highlighted the return of some of the biggest superstars in WWE history. Paul also shared his aspirations as a wrestler, stating that his ultimate goal was to turn people who may not have cared about wrestling into casual fans.

During the podcast conversation, Paul’s fellow YouTuber and boxer, KSI, also shared his experiences in WWE. KSI revealed that he had been driven through a table at WrestleMania 39 and had taken an RKO from Randy Orton on a recent episode of WWE SmackDown.

Paul further discussed his experience of taking the RKO from Orton, describing it as one of the best things he had ever done in his life. He admitted that it was physically painful, with his nose smushed and his lip cut up. However, he expressed his willingness to endure such physicality and likened himself to Shane McMahon, a former WWE wrestler known for his high-risk stunts.

When asked if he could wrestle full-time, Paul responded that he saw himself as the Shane McMahon of WWE and didn’t mind taking moves like the Stone Cold Stunner. However, he jokingly mentioned that he only wanted to execute one suplex.

The podcast episode also included a video highlight of the conversation between Logan Paul and KSI, which can be viewed on YouTube.

In conclusion, Logan Paul’s announcement of PRIME as the first-ever center ring sponsor in WWE history has sparked both controversy and excitement among wrestling fans. While some die-hard fans may be upset about this development, Paul remains determined to make an impact in the wrestling world and attract new fans to the sport.
