On a latest installment of his “Impaulsive” podcast, Logan Paul publicly avowed his decision to never execute another springboard moonsault in his professional wrestling career. This statement followed his defeat against LA Knight in the WWE SummerSlam 2024 held the previous Saturday.
During his face-off with LA Knight, Paul showcased his move, the springboard moonsault, which ironically ended up being the cause of his defeat leading to the loss of his WWE United States Title to Knight.
Logan Paul conveyed his sentiments in these words: “As a greenhorn delving into this complex wrestling industry, my WWE career has been my biggest challenge so far. Initially, I believed my unique moves could enamor the audience. The danger-lover inside me always wondered how far could I push my limits? At some point, I’ll discover the answer. The Ricochet encounter wasn’t pleasant. It took a toll on my spirit. However, these things are bound to happen. I practiced for months to perfect that move. Being in my hometown, Cleveland, I wanted to make an impact. I took the risk once and I’m resolved to not take it again as the move is extremely perilous with zero room for mistakes. In fact, before the move, I asked the referee to dry off the rope to avoid slipping. I can’t help but envy wrestlers like Roman Reigns who keep the audience gripped with their narrative and not have to gamble their body and health. That’s the toughest part.”
Paul’s scoring record includes defeating Rey Mysterio to clinch the United States Championship at WWE Crown Jewel 2023. Throughout his 273-day reign as the champion, the audacious Maverick had successfully retained the title for three distinctive times.
