Liv Morgan never pictured herself triumphing over Trish Stratus to claim a title, given that the latter is a WWE legend who heavily influenced Morgan’s own list of moves.
Back in 2023, a tag team match culminated in Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez ousting Becky Lynch and Stratus, the stand-in for the injured Lita, to snag the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Delving into her experience in a fresh interview with ‘Inside The Ropes’ magazine, Liv expounded on her admiration for the iconic Canadian star. She declared,
“That was actually my second time in the ring with Trish. But it’s unbelievable to think I never imagined wrestling against Trish Stratus, let alone win a championship from her. I distinctly remember my early moveset being heavily inspired by Trish Stratus.”
“So, taking a step back to truly grasp what I was accomplishing, it was nothing short of a reality check. You find yourself in these moments you never conceded possible, and then there you are, exchanging blows with them. You’re left wondering, ‘How did we orchestrate this?'”
In a startling reveal, it was made known that it was Stratus who had caused Lita’s injury, which spurred her to betray Lynch, thereby launching a fiery dispute with “The Man”.
Currently, Morgan holds the title of the WWE Women’s World Champion and she is preparing to engage in combat inside WarGames at the upcoming WWE Survivor Series : WarGames this weekend.
