On what led to his WWE exit: “There could be lucha guys who can talk and entertain. But they wouldn’t make it so easy for the audience to digest, that they’re not accepting a lucha guy to talk and entertain, they just want you to be the ‘Lucha Lucha guys.’ That’s what I was told.”
On his reaction to being told that: I was like, ‘Alright, well.’ … I said, ‘If this is what you want, thank you, but this s**t sucks.’ Ultimately, that’s what ended up, um, asking for our release, literally that conversation.”

Lince Dorado, a former WWE wrestler, recently opened up about his departure from the company and his reaction to it. In a podcast interview, Dorado discussed the reasons behind his WWE exit and shed light on the challenges he faced as a lucha libre performer.
Dorado revealed that one of the main factors that led to his departure was WWE’s perception of lucha libre wrestlers. He explained that while there are lucha performers who can talk and entertain, WWE seemed to have a preconceived notion that lucha wrestlers should only focus on their in-ring abilities and not on their mic skills or character development. Dorado expressed his frustration with this mindset, stating that it made it difficult for lucha performers to be accepted as well-rounded entertainers.
When Dorado was told about WWE’s expectations for him as a lucha wrestler, he admitted that he was disappointed. He realized that if WWE wanted him to conform to their narrow view of what a lucha wrestler should be, it would limit his potential as a performer. Ultimately, this conversation led Dorado to request his release from the company.
Dorado’s candid interview sheds light on the challenges faced by wrestlers who don’t fit into the traditional mold set by WWE. It highlights the importance of allowing performers to showcase their full range of skills and talents, regardless of their background or wrestling style.
