Carmelo Hayes has denied being the unidentified individual who attacked Trick Williams to keep him out of the #1 contender’s match on last week’s episode of WWE NXT.

In a sitdown interview during Tuesday’s show, Hayes told Vic Joseph that the assumption was “crazy” and that he would still have won the match if Trick had been in it.

Hayes will challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship next week at Halloween Havoc (Night Two).
