Lex Luger remembers Dusty Rhodes being the originator of his popular “Total Package” alias and the concept of his final move, the Torture Rack.
During his guest appearance on the “Insight With Chris Van Vliet” podcast, the wrestler who is soon to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, fondly credited Rhodes for the nickname and the impressive finishing move. He narrated the story,
“Dusty Rhodes provided me with such an incredible nickname. I was backstage when he told me… ‘I envision you embodying the brains, the brawn, and the beauty.’”
Luger added, “He then said, ‘I want you to represent the complete package, my friend.’ He was the mastermind behind that alias and also behind my finish, the Torture Rack, as he believed it perfectly showcased my physique and my abdominal muscles.”
