On a recent episode of his “Lex Expressed” podcast, former wrestler Lex Luger shared his thoughts on his relationship with wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, the constant comparisons between them, and much more.
Here are some key points highlighted from the podcast:
When asked about the frequent comparisons between him and Hulk Hogan, Luger had this to say: “Others have brought this up quite frequently. However, in my perspective, both past and present, there can only be one Hulk Hogan. I never felt the need to compete with, imitate, or follow in his footsteps, or to become the next Hulk Hogan. I have always had the view that there can’t be another Hulk Hogan. I was simply striving to be the best version of Lex Luger, according to my persona. Therefore, I never internalized any pressure. Quite a number of fans have made that comparison, but it was never part of my thought process.”
Regarding his current relationship with Hogan, Luger added: “Our relationship is quite strong. It’s been unique…there has always been a shared respect between us. All of our exchanges have been affirmative. I have a deep affection for the Hulkster, and will always be grateful for the collaborations he had with me. Our relationship remains fantastic to this very day.”
