Even though WWE wanted to have Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and John Cena at WrestleMania XL, they could only get John Cena as they showed up in the main event of night two, where they joined forces with Seth Rollins to take on Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

During the match, Cena took down Solo Sikoa while The Undertaker delivered a powerful choke slam to The Rock.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote, “Undertaker’s gong hit and he choke slammed and took out Rock. Austin was the person originally earmarked for that spot, but in the end they couldn’t reach a financial agreement and Undertaker was put in his place.”

WWE fans were eagerly anticipating a dream match at WrestleMania XL that would have featured three legendary superstars: Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and John Cena. However, due to financial disagreements, Austin was unable to participate in the event, leaving only Cena and The Undertaker to make an appearance.

The main event of night two saw Cena and The Undertaker team up with Seth Rollins to take on Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. Despite Austin’s absence, the match proved to be a thrilling spectacle for fans.

During the match, Cena showcased his incredible athleticism and took down Solo Sikoa with his signature moves. Meanwhile, The Undertaker reminded everyone why he is known as one of the most dominant forces in WWE history. He delivered a powerful choke slam to none other than The Rock, leaving the audience in awe of his strength and presence.

According to Dave Meltzer’s report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Austin was initially intended to be in The Undertaker’s place, delivering the iconic choke slam to The Rock. However, due to financial negotiations that couldn’t be resolved, Austin had to step aside, allowing The Undertaker to take his spot.

While fans may have been disappointed not to see Austin in action at WrestleMania XL, the presence of Cena and The Undertaker certainly made up for it. Both superstars have left an indelible mark on the wrestling industry and continue to captivate audiences with their performances.

It is not uncommon for negotiations and financial issues to impact the lineup of major wrestling events like WrestleMania. The business side of professional wrestling often plays a significant role in determining which superstars will participate in high-profile matches.
