As we previously reported here on eWn, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch filed an appeal of her prison sentence to attempt to get the total time served reduced.

Sytch was sentenced to 17 years in prison on November 28th in a plea deal that saw her plead guilty to one count of DUI causing death (DUI Manslaughter, a felony in the third degree), one count of causing death while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license (a felony in the third degree), four counts of DUI causing injury to a person, and three counts of DUI for a fatal car accident that took place back in March 2022.

Pwinsider reports that Sytch is appealing both the court’s Denial of Her Motion for Downward Departure as well as the “Judgment and sentence rendered on November 27, 2023.”

The documentation states that Sytch is seeking to get the verdict overturned to attempt to get her sentence reduced.

Additionally, the report notes that Sytch was approved for indignant status, which allowed a public defender to represent her in the appeal without her bearing the usual court fees since she does not have the financial means to do so.

Sytch reportedly requested two copies of the transcript of her sentencing.

Former WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch has filed an appeal to reduce her prison sentence. Sytch was sentenced to 17 years in prison on November 28th after pleading guilty to several charges related to a fatal car accident that occurred in March 2022.

In a plea deal, Sytch pleaded guilty to one count of DUI causing death, one count of causing death while operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, four counts of DUI causing injury, and three counts of DUI. The charges resulted in a felony in the third degree.

According to reports, Sytch is appealing both the court’s denial of her motion for downward departure and the judgment and sentence rendered on November 27, 2023. She is seeking to have the verdict overturned in order to reduce her sentence.

Sytch has been approved for indigent status, which allows her to have a public defender represent her in the appeal without bearing the usual court fees. This status is granted to individuals who do not have the financial means to hire their own legal representation.

As part of her appeal, Sytch has requested two copies of the transcript of her sentencing. This documentation will likely be used as evidence in her attempt to get her sentence reduced.

It is important to note that Sytch’s appeal does not guarantee a reduction in her sentence. The court will review the appeal and make a decision based on the merits of the case.
