At the recent edition of AEW Dynamite, Team AEW emerged victorious against Team Elite in a gruelling Blood & Guts match. The former comprising Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin and The Acclaimed fought valiantly against the latter which included The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry and Hangman Page.
A significant occurrence during the encounter was when Jack Perry was symbolically restrained to the cage, and took a chair shot, sans any protection, from Mark Briscoe. It has been reported that a special prop chair was utilized for the sequence without a guard.
According to credible information from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, multiple insiders from AEW have confirmed that the chair deployed for the sequence had been specifically crafted for the physical stunt.
Further, a significant statement was released by Nicholas Jackson, assuring that Perry was unscathed post the sequence. In his statement, Jackson affirmed:
“All I know is Jack is fine, and that’s all that matters. We know the risk we’re taking in the ring and it wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t prepared for it.”
