Reports have emerged this week suggesting that Shane McMahon is exploring opportunities to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The rumors were fuelled by a conversation between Conrad Thompson and Jim Ross in which they discussed a mutual acquaintance who claimed Shane had made contact with some AEW team members about a possible appearance. However, AEW President Tony Khan dismissed these claims, stating he has had no discussions or meetings with the former WWE Chairman’s son.
Sources from Fightful Select indicate that Shane McMahon’s name hasn’t emerged in any significant discussions within AEW. When asked about the potential of Shane making a cameo, the response from the higher echelons of AEW was that it was not on their agenda.
In other news from the wrestling world, it has been reported that Vince McMahon had stated during his WWE tenure, that Shane “would never get another pop in the company again” hereafter. This followed the controversial events at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event where Shane was implicated in an attempt to take over the men’s Royal Rumble match for his own benefit. This incident led to his suspension. Still, Shane surprisingly featured at WrestleMania 39, post his father’s departure, a time during which he sustained an injury.
Presently, Shane is not tied to any kind of WWE contract which includes roles such as talent, legends, to name a few. His participation in the WWE 2K24 video game was apparently covered under a separate arrangement.
At present, details about the existing relationship between Vince and Shane McMahon are uncertain.
