Knight was brought up to SmackDown as the manager of the Maximum Male Models but after introducing his sister Maxxine, split from the group and ditched the Dupri name.
In a recent interview with Metro, Knight recalled being asked about going back to the LA Knight character after his run as Max Dupri. He said,
“Let’s make that happen. Because I don’t know who or what the hell Max Dupri is. Now, look, given the time, could I have done that? Could I have made it work? I’m sure I could have. Now, would it have ever been anything like we’re doing right now? No. Because at the end of the day, that wasn’t me. It wasn’t for me.”
As Knight, the wrestling veteran has become one of WWE’s most popular Superstars and challenged Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2023.
