Tonight’s episode of NXT ended with the big Gauntlet Eliminator Match, which would see the winner taking on Finn Balor for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver. After a grueling match, Kyle O’Reilly came out on top, taking down the competition and securing a championship opportunity.
In a match that saw O’Reilly going up against Kushida, Bronson Reed, Cameron Grimes, and Timothy Thatcher, it was O’Reilly who survived the longest. The rules of the match saw two men starting in the ring, with a new competitor entering every four minutes. The only way for a superstar to lose was to be pinned or submitted, and the last man standing would win. O’Reilly and Kushida actually started the match, and it was Kyle who lasted the longest, getting Cameron Grimes to tap out with a heel hook late in the match.
