Kurt Angle Set To Referee This Week’s NXT Cage Fight

In a surprising move, NXT has announced that WWE legend Kurt Angle will be stepping into the cage to lay down the law when Matt Riddle and TimothY Thatcher have at it this Wednesday. Angle is no stranger to the special referee role, but he was also listed as one of the many talents let go by WWE due to the pandemic lockdown. It’s unclear if Angle will be coming in for a one-time appearance or if this means that WWE has readjusted its books.

The man himself offers no clue as to his situation, only a quick catchphrase and confirmation. Considering that the Cage Fight will likely lean into Riddle’s mixed martial arts background, Angle seems like the perfect man to be in the middle of the action in any case.
