Tonight, NXT viewers will witness Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher go at it in a cage fight. Surprisingly, recent WWE departure Kurt Angle will be on hand to officiate the match, and he’s offered a sneak peek at the structure used for this important matchup:

Since the match’s announcement, some fans have said that they expect some sort of return of the Lion’s Den considering the unique rules, but this structure seems more like a regular steel cage. Even so, the two fighters will have to win via MMA-like rules, with only knockouts or tap outs securing victory.

Rumors seem to indicate that the Original Bro is on a fast track to Friday Night Smackdown, which does give you some expectations of who’s emerging from the cage victorious. Will we see Riddle wave goodbye to the black and gold brand and arrive on the main roster Friday? Or was it all a smokescreen meant to fuel speculation like the kind I’m engaging in right now? We only have a few hours before we have a definitive answer.
