In a recent episode of “The Kurt Angle Show,” Kurt Angle, WWE Hall of Fame inductee, gave his thoughts on a variety of subjects. Among them were Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and an offer from WWE to manage Matt Riddle.
Here are a few notable points from Angle’s podcast:
When asked about the potential of a managerial role in WWE, Angle expressed that while he is content with his current activities, he would consider managing. He said, “The role would have to be right. It would require the right deal, the right program. And importantly, the offer needs to be financially appealing. A while back, WWE wanted me to manage Matt Riddle. I was intrigued as I saw him having similarities to RVD. We might have had a great dynamic on-screen. However, the offer put forth was highly disappointing. It felt as if I was ‘kicked in the nuts.'”
Regarding his wish list of opponents apart from Bret Hart, Angle admitted that Ricky Steamboat and Macho Man have always been on his radar. He also added contemporary wrestlers like Kenny Omega to this list, whom he believes he could have a great match with. He said, “A lot of wrestlers today, like Roman Reigns, have proven themselves as one of the finest. Though initially, WWE was rushing his push, he has honed his skills and become a master in the ring.”
Further in the podcast, Angle complimented Will Ospreay, admitting, “Will is another fantastic wrestler I wish I could have worked with. His match with Kenny was extraordinary, and I fantasize about a triple threat match involving the three of us.”
