Kurt Angle Credits Taz As Never Being Dangerous With His Suplexes

Taz’s WWE debut was one of the most memorable of the Attitude Era because it did happen to check off every single one of Kurt Angle’s ‘Three I’s.”

Angle made such abundantly clear on his most recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show with Conrad Thompson as the two covered Angle’s rookie year in WWE. Angle touched upon that now infamous debut at Royal Rumble 2000 when Taz sauntered out and suplexed Kurt to oblivion before choking him out with the Tazmission and handing Angle his first loss. When talking about The Human Suplex Machine, Kurt made clear that he felt safe in Taz’s hands.

“Taz was not dangerous. That was my idea. I told Taz to give me a German suplex and throw me really high in the air, I would flip over to my stomach. I wanted to do a moonsault German suplex where I landed on my stomach, I thought it’d look really vicious and brutal. So that was all my call. I’m not sure why Taz didn’t then tell the office that I’m the one that chose the move.”

“Taz was never dangerous with his suplexes. He was relatively safe, I never had a problem with him,” he added.

Taz went on Twitter to thank Angle for backing him and gave much credit to the man’s integrity (the second of the “I’s” mind you):

“So for me, aren’t many more credible in the history of the biz than Kurt,” Taz Tweeted. “For anyone who thought/think I was “dangerous” the man with the brightest GOLD has spoken. I appreciate you explaining this, Kurt Angle.”
