During a recent feature on “The Sick” podcast, Kris Statlander shared how her noteworthy match with John Silver propelled her into the spotlight.
Statlander declared, “If I had a favorite match, I’d probably say the street fight at All Out that I did with Willow. However, it’s an uncomfortable truth that my momentous match was with John Silver in the independent circuit. I have to begrudgingly acknowledge it was our bout that led to my breakthrough in the industry. Giving him credit is a tough pill to swallow because of his challenging personality.”
In a different setting on the popular “Youngstown Studio” podcast, Orange Cassidy shared his perspective on the AEW World Title and his previous ambivalence towards contesting for it.
Cassidy asserted, “AEW World Champion, to me, represents professional wrestling, and I feel that it represents what professional wrestling should be, can be, is, and to wear that championship, it means that you are the best wrestler in the world. So it’s something I never thought I would try to attain. I did contend for it at one other time, it was right after the pandemic, it was Double or Nothing [2021], I wrestled against Kenny Omega and PAC in a triple threat, and I just about had the match in the bag, but Don Callis spoiled it for me, like he routinely does, and I never saw myself in that position. I think I just didn’t want it, I don’t know.”
