Kota Ibushi considers AEW as his primary choice in the professional wrestling industry and he explained his mindset during an interview with Dark Puroresu Flowsion.
In 2018, Ibushi teamed with The Young Bucks to defeat Bandido, Rey Fénix, and Rey Mysterio in the main event of All In. Ibushi parted ways with NJPW following the expiration of his contract this past January and made his in-ring return at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 9 event on March 30th with a victory against Mike Bailey. Ibushi said,
“I don’t want to go out normally, I want to go out seriously. I think I’m more suited to AEW than Japan. I already thought so during All In. I have many friends. There are even the best tag partners.”
