The AEW International Championship title now belongs to Konosuke Takeshita who proved victorious against both reigning champion Will Ospreay and Ricochet in a thrilling tri-match at AEW’s WrestleDream event in 2024.
However, this accomplishment wasn’t achieved in the most forthright manner. Intrigue ran high when Kyle Fletcher, a close friend of Ospreay’s, turned traitor. Concealing his identity with a hoodie, Fletcher blindsided Ospreay to prevent him from taking down Don Callis.
Takeshita claimed the victory with both Callis and Fletcher present in the ring, with Fletcher subsequently dealing a Tiger Driver blow to Will Ospreay to mark the closure of the event.
