Konosuke Takeshita Returning To NJPW, El Phantasmo Taking Hiatus Over Health Concern

Konosuke Takeshita, the AEW international champion, is set to make a comeback to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He will be participating in the NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed and Strong Style Evolved events.

NJPW publicized a video where Takeshita announced his participation in the upcoming events which will be held on November 8 and December 15.

During his announcement, Takeshita stated his readiness to defend his AEW International Title against any willing challenger.

A health-related issue has forced El Phantasmo to take an indefinite break, as disclosed by NJPW. The wrestler’s health condition has not been specified but it has resulted in his absence from all forthcoming events.

The official announcement reads:

“El Phantasmo to miss action due to health concern
Our thanks to all supporters of New Japan Pro-Wrestling

El Phantasmo, initially scheduled to partake in the Super Jr. Tag League Tour and at Power Struggle on November 4, will now take an indefinite break due to health concerns.

We regret any disappointment fans may have due to this announcement and appreciate your understanding.

November 2, Nagoya

The previously mentioned line-up of Hiroshi Tanahashi, El Phantasmo, Toru Yano, Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Dia versus EVIL, Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru will now consist of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Boltin Oleg, Toru Yano, Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Dia versus EVIL, Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

November 4, Osaka

The initially planned match of Hiroshi Tanahashi & El Phantasmo versus EVIL & Ren Narita will now be Hiroshi Tanahashi & Boltin Oleg versus EVIL & Ren Narita.
