Kimber Lee’s legal troubles came to a conclusion as she submitted a Nolo Contendre plea to allegations of driving under the influence (DUI), violence towards an officer, and assault on a law enforcement agent.
Under the terms of a plea agreement, she received a one-year probation for the DUI, as well as two years’ probation for the other offenses, with both to run concurrently. She was also handed a two-year suspended prison term, conditioned on successful completion of her probation. In addition, Lee was instructed to perform 75 hours of community service and to wear an ankle monitoring device. Her driving permit was revoked for half the year and she was obligated to participate in substance abuse counseling and DUI education courses.
The incident leading to Lee’s detainment was precipitated by a police agent finding her vehicle positioned incorrectly on a street. During the encounter, she showed signs of being under the influence, demonstrated incoherent speech, and attempted to abscond from the location. In reaction to the officer’s arrest attempt, she attacked him, triggering charges of assault and opposition to arrest. Her blood alcohol concentration was 0.14, over the permissible 0.08 threshold. She also refused to provide a second blood specimen when solicited.
