On a recent edition of the “Tuesday with The Taskmaster” podcast, former WCW star Kevin Sullivan weighed in on AEW All In 2023 and who CM Punk should face at Wembley Stadium.
According to Sullivan, Punk should face former AEW World Champion and arch-rival rival Adam “Hangman” Page.
Sullivan also spoke about Ric Flair’s iconic career, noting that The Nature Boy helped numerous talents get over with the fans.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On Bully Ray’s idea for not announcing any matchups at AEW All In, and who CM Punk should face: “I love Bully [Ray] as a person, he’s a hell of a guy, he’s very smart, and probably doesn’t get his due. I love the idea, but I don’t agree with it completely. You can do what he said, except for the main event. Do you know what the main event is? Punk versus Hangman. They’ll fall off the rafters. Punk is such a good worker, and if Hangman goes with him, the people will go crazy.”
On Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan: “Sometimes Hulk would be ‘This doesn’t work for me, brother,’ but you’d be surprised [at] the guys that were so easy to get along with. Ric — god bless Ric — he was so easy. I don’t think I ever had any feedback from Ric that was negative. The Horsemen were great to work with. [Roddy] Piper sometimes; he had a little bit of paranoia in him.”
On being friendly with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall: “It’s all a matter of trust. I believe that when you tell a guy in that position [you better have an answer for] ‘Where are we going next week? Where do I go the next month?’ You better have that answer or you’re going to have problems from then on.”
On Flair getting talent over: “Ric has made more guys than anyone in the wrestling business.”
