Kevin Owens Wins Ladder Match, Shane McMahon Terminated From WWE
One of the biggest matches of the night on WWE Friday Night SmackDown was primed to be the contest between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon in a ladder match. The loser of the match would be terminated from the WWE, and with the bad blood between the two superstars, fans were ready to see who would win. Thankfully, the match did not disappoint, and Kevin Owens came away with a huge win after both competitors put everything on the line.
Things started off incredibly, with Owens and McMahon trading blows before things got chaotic. Both Owens and McMahon made use of the ladder, the announcers table, and even steel chairs as they went at it. Even after going back and forth, both superstars had plenty of chances to make it up the ladder, but each dug deep within themselves to prevent it from happening.

However, towards the end of the match, McMahon utilized a steel chair to take out Owens’s leg, and after delivering a nasty coast to coast splash, began to climb the ladder. Of course, Owens would not be denied victory, and he somehow managed to get up, grab McMahon, and powerbomb him onto a ladder wedged into the turnbuckle. With McMahon out, Owens climbed to the top of the ladder and unclipped the briefcase, securing a win.
Following the win, Owens dragged McMahon up to his feet before delivering him with one of the most iconic lines in wrestling. “Hey Shane. You’re fired!” Owens yelled before capping the match off with a stunner.
