In a March dialogue on the “Going Ringside” show, Matt Riddle listed Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens among those he finds challenging to collaborate with. Riddle expressed, “When I reflect on who’s tough to probably collaborate with, I’d lean towards Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens. It’s complex to complete a full sentence with these individuals if you understand my point. Yes.”
Subsequently, in a guest appearance on the “My Mom’s Basement” broadcast with Robbie Fox, Kevin Owens was solicited for his reaction to Riddle’s comments. Kevin offered his viewpoint,
“It didn’t blindside me. I actually saw it. It’s humorous because it’s originating from him. I harbor no hostility towards him whatsoever. He’s someone who had exceptional prospects handed to him, like becoming Randy’s wrestling mate for a considerable period and essentially riding on the success of a veteran. But he ended up ruining it all. It wasn’t due to lack of skills, he’s highly gifted and extraordinarily athletic. The culprit was his own mindset and poor decisions. For him to brand us challenging to work with or something similar, because he wasn’t allowed to speak, there’s a solid justification for that. If you compare his professional history with ours, the difference is evident. If that’s his perception, it’s acceptable. I can’t challenge him when he articulates it was tough to get a word in. It indeed was since we likely didn’t let him talk much. We know him and our working style, which turns out successful.”
