Prior to their tag team match tonight, Kevin Owens interrupted Roman Reigns to open tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown, and challenged him to a match at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view.

During a planned interview between Kayla Braxton and Roman Reigns, Owens made his way out to the ring, telling Reigns that instead of going up against each other later in a tag team match, the two could settle things in the moment, or at TLC, in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. Before Reigns could answer, Jey Uso – who accompanied Reigns to the ring along with Paul Heyman – grabbed the microphone, accepting Owens’ challenge for a match tonight. Owens then told Jey that he wasn’t talking to the “bus boy,” but the head of the table.

After getting on the microphone, Reigns seemed to accept the match at TLC, telling Owens that he’d probably love it if Reigns gave him some relevancy. Instead, though, Reigns told Owens that since his cousin accepted a match for tonight, they would be honoring that, but wouldn’t be fighting in the ring right away. However, WWE confirmed after the segment that Owens and Reigns would be going at it in a Tables, Ladders, Chairs match for the WWE Universal Championship. WWE’s TLC will take place on December 20, 2020, and can be streamed live via WWE Network.

Did @WWERomanReigns just accept?!? Will he put the #UniversalTitle on the line against @FightOwensFight in a TLC Match at #WWETLC?! pic.twitter.com/9E2D5nVkp2
