Recently on his podcast “Kliq This”, legendary wrestler Kevin Nash shared updates about his injured shoulder and mentioned an impending procedure.
Earlier, Nash shared that he felt an unusual pop during his training session.
Nash shared, “I felt something pop in my shoulder. Last Monday that happened. Today is the tenth day since. In my experience, especially as I’ve grown older, I’ve realized the importance of getting an MRI and having a professional evaluate it when something feels off. Sometimes an initial minor tear can worsen into a full tear. Saving it by maybe getting stem cell treatment could potentially save you from needing surgery. I asked the doctor to show me my bicep tendon and other parts of my shoulder. He pointed out notable bone spur at the end of my humerus. He basically stated that due to my extensive arthritis, an area that appeared to be scar tissue might have come loose…”
Nash further explained, “The scar on my shoulder looks like the aftermath of a shotgun shot. But despite the appearance, it’s really the scar tissue opening up. My return to the gym is tomorrow and I’m advised to take it easy. After the workout, I’ll need to ice it at home. Recalling how I could’ve been seriously injured while training heavy recently, I feel extremely lucky. They performed an EMG, observing the nerve impulses by sending an electric current down my leg. I was informed that my L3 nerve on the left side is being pinched, but it should recover…”
As for his back health, Nash mentioned, “A small section needs to be surgically removed. This will help overall disc health except for that one very damaged disc. It’s a relief knowing that the restrictions imposed after the operation will be minimal in six weeks and completely removed in three months. Ideally, if I can have the operation mid-December, by mid-March I’ll be restriction-free. By the time I hit the gym then, I’ll be ready to work on my beach body.”
