On a recent episode of his podcast, “Kliq This,” Kevin Nash, acclaimed WWE Hall of Famer, took a trip down memory lane to discuss his period with TNA Wrestling and the factors that contributed to his exit from the organization in 2010.
If you missed the podcast, here are some key moments:
When asked about his journey with TNA, Nash said, “Looking back…I gave my best shot there. My fitness levels were commendable. Reflecting on the “Main Event Mafia” phase, now that was a golden opportunity. Making the call to let go of [Booker T] was a huge misstep. The moment Book left, I decided, ‘Screw it, I’m out too.’ The news of Book appearing at the Royal Rumble sparked something in me. I thought, ‘There’s no way he’s doing that without me.’ So I dyed my stuff black, and found myself there…”
About the advice from Scott Hall to not reveal too much to coworkers, Nash recalled, “Certainly, once you’re in the loop, you have to participate. All it takes is one person who’s skilled in the game. I can guarantee you, the person with the knack won’t want to look incompetent. Scott [Hall] would persistently advise, ‘Don’t let them in on the tricks.’ Like, come on man – we have to work in concert. What do you imply by, don’t let them in? ‘Don’t talk when he’s in charge of your career.’ Yeah, Scott would always maintain, ‘Man, don’t let them in on the secret.’ Like he’s the one holding the key to the castle.”
