Kevin Nash recently shared his thoughts on the reimagining of his character, ‘The Russian,’ in MARVEL’s latest sensation ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’
In this new instalment, the creators have resurrected various personalities from past MARVEL films that enjoyed less popularity, including Nash’s character from the 2004 hit ‘The Punisher.’
In an unexpected turn of events, Nash’s character is now being enacted by Billy Clements, known for his work in other MARVEL’s projects like ‘Eternals’ and ‘Dune.’
In the latest episode of his popular podcast “Kliq This,” Nash shared his surprise at his iconic role being handed over to another actor. He candidly expressed,
“That doesn’t even … that looks nothing like the character I played. That looks nothing like the Russian. It seems like they’ve done someone a favor.”
‘The Russian’ made its debut in The Punisher #8 (published November 2000) under the MARVEL Comics umbrella and has been a recurrent antagonist in ‘The Punisher’ series ever since.
