AEW Revolution 2024 will see Sting compete in the final match of his legendary career but Kevin Nash won’t be in attendance for the historic show.

On a recent edition of his “Kliq This” podcast, Nash recalled being invited to the show by the Icon and shared why he had to turn Sting down. He said,

“He asked me to be a part of it, I just said that … you know, with my positioning with WWE I couldn’t -– I couldn’t even be … If I went in the crowd, it would be … you know?

“I asked [WWE] –- you know when you ask and there’s that three-second pause? It’s like when you be on the road and you’re like, ‘Hey babe? We’re at Fort Wayne, I’m gonna go to Stewie’s Strip Joint, you got a problem with that?’ Nothing.”

AEW Revolution 2024 will take place next weekend. Sting and Darby Allin will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.

AEW Revolution 2024 is set to be a historic event in the world of professional wrestling, as it will mark the final match of the legendary Sting’s career. However, one notable absence from the show will be Kevin Nash, who recently revealed on his “Kliq This” podcast why he had to turn down Sting’s invitation.

Nash, a former professional wrestler himself, explained that due to his current affiliation with WWE, he was unable to attend AEW Revolution 2024. He mentioned on his podcast, “He asked me to be a part of it, I just said that… you know, with my positioning with WWE I couldn’t -– I couldn’t even be… If I went in the crowd, it would be… you know?”

Nash’s statement highlights the complexities and rivalries that exist within the world of professional wrestling. As a contracted talent with WWE, Nash’s appearance at an AEW event would likely be seen as a breach of loyalty or a conflict of interest. This is not uncommon in the wrestling industry, where promotions fiercely compete for viewership and fan loyalty.

Nash humorously compared his situation to asking his significant other for permission to visit a strip club while on the road. He said, “I asked [WWE] –- you know when you ask and there’s that three-second pause? It’s like when you’re on the road and you’re like, ‘Hey babe? We’re at Fort Wayne, I’m gonna go to Stewie’s Strip Joint, you got a problem with that?’ Nothing.”

Despite Nash’s absence, AEW Revolution 2024 promises to be an exciting event for wrestling fans. The main event will feature Sting and his tag team partner Darby Allin defending the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. This match will undoubtedly be an emotional and memorable moment for Sting, as he concludes his storied career in the ring.

Sting, whose real name is Steve Borden, is considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He gained fame and popularity during his time with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and later made appearances in WWE before joining AEW. Throughout his career, Sting has captivated audiences with his unique persona, high-flying moves, and charismatic presence.

As Sting prepares for his final match, fans from around the world will be eagerly watching AEW Revolution 2024 to witness this historic moment. While Kevin Nash won’t be in attendance, his podcast revelation sheds light on the intricate relationships and allegiances that exist within the wrestling industry. It serves as a reminder that behind the glitz and glamour of professional wrestling, there are often complex dynamics at play.
