In a recent episode of his podcast, “Kliq This,” WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash made an intriguing revelation. He confessed that he was notably under the influence of marijuana during his interview sessions for the ongoing docuseries, ‘Who Killed WCW?’ broadcasted on VICE TV.
Here are a few highlights from the podcast:
Addressing the topic of people continuing to feel resentment about WCW and his own state under the influence at the time of his interviews, Nash stated: “There are those who haven’t moved on… anyone holding a grudge, I don’t fathom that,” he said. He then threw light on his demeanor during the filming of the docuseries, mentioning, “I don’t believe I could have been more indifferent… their remuneration wasn’t too high. I was heavily stoned.”
Giving insights into Turner Home Entertainment’s handling of WCW’s revenue, Nash pointed out: “Most people aren’t aware of this and it’s doubtful that the documentary will highlight it. But if you’ve ever seen a WCW pay-per-view broadcast, the conclusion always reads ‘Brought to you by, produced by Turner Home Entertainment.’ They were the beneficiaries…The pay-per-views were our primary source of income and Turner Home Entertainment accounted for these in their books, not ours,” he explained. Nash, citing Brad Seigel, emphasized that they were supposed to be bottom-lining a premium cable channel until this additional monetary concern was dumped on them. Therefore, according to Nash, creative accounting was as much a problem as anything else.
