On a recent episode of Eric Bischoff’s “Wise Choices” podcast, Kevin Kelly shared his perspectives on Chris Jericho’s newest persona – ‘The Learning Tree’ in AEW. To quote Kelly,
“You can never discount Chris Jericho’s ability to launch innovative things. It appears he constantly seeks to test himself and experience novelty. That’s where he sees himself in this phase of his career, so we need to examine it from that perspective.”
Kelly added, “I feel this will endear it to the viewers. It possesses a certain insider feel which may be missed by a few.”
At 2011’s WWE Vengeance pay-per-view extravaganza, an unforgettable moment happened when Mark Henry and The Big Show collapsed the entire ring during their one-on-one bout.
In a conversation with Chris Van Vliet on his “Insight” podcast, Henry looked back at the iconic event. He reminisced,
“On the day of the event, when I reached the venue they informed me. I was taken aback. I was under the impression that we were going to do it without any aids. I’ve witnessed rings collapse before. The rings are strung together underneath to a central point providing ample support. To make a ring collapse, all you have to do is omit the wires.”
He went on to say, “But what if an incident occurs during the match? Therefore, setting all this up…it’s a sleight of hand making everything occur at the precise moment it’s intended to, not sooner. That would put people at risk.”
